BIOS

Ceres Silva is currently the Canadian Sales Director for Eagle Eye Networks with more than16 years' experience in the security industry. To strive in a male dominated market being a Latin American immigrant woman proved to be a challenging pathway. Throughout the years she went on to get her BBA and MBA degrees and became fluent in four languages. Ceres holds an APP certification from ASIS and a Cyber Security certificate from the University of Toronto. Currently a chair of WIS -Toronto chapter, was invited in 2023 to be the ASRVP of WIS ASIS Canada and a council member of CANASA Central. She is also part of the SIA Women in Security Forum and a founding member of Immigrant Women in Business of Canada. She is an advocate for diversity in security, and passionate about technology and innovation. In her volunteer work, Ceres is an active champion of introducing girls to technology, connecting women professionals with companies that put diversity and inclusion first. In 2020, Ceres along with 4 female friends started a Brazilian women soccer association in Toronto that, today counts on more than 100 members, mostly girls who immigrated alone and were in need of a community environment to play sports and networking. 

 

Terri Govang, CPP, is a renowned leader in Strategic Security. With almost 25 years of work experience, she has developed technical, operational, and tactical skills that allow her to have a significant impact on high-level decision-making and shape corporate policies. Her focus on continuous improvement and innovation has led to a history of transforming commercial operations to align with the best practices in enterprise security solutions. Some of her core competencies and personal attributes include security strategy, change management, leadership, performance evaluation, and engagement.

Terri is the founder of Portcullis Modern Inc., Security Management and Executive Consulting. She serves on the strategic advisory board of Ottawa's Root in Nature and is a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol and the CSO Centre. As a long-time ASIS volunteer, she has previously held several leadership positions, including Calgary Chapter Chair and ARVP of Women in Security Canada.

 

Sherri Ireland, CISSP is recognized as a senior leader in the physical security industry. She previously managed an extensive portfolio for a global security integrator, and in 2015 launched Security Exclusive, providing cyber awareness training sessions, security consulting, and recruiting services. Sherri was previously the vice-chair of ASIS Toronto Chapter, is a board member and treasurer of the YWCA, Peterborough Haliburton and was recognized by Canadian Security magazine, as their Community Leader Award in 2020.   Sherri is also program coordinator and part-time faculty in the Protection, Security, and Investigation program at Fleming College.
