Responsibilities

• conduct physical security audits and threat / risk assessments of corporate offices and facilities
• provide technical guidance in physical security design for the new company facilities
• coordinate installation and maintenance of company access control systems, intrusion alarm systems and CCTV systems
• development of comprehensive security plans to meet the needs of the company as well as regulatory and industry requirements
• assist in managing and conducting internal security investigations. Investigate illegal entries, thefts from the premises, office safety infractions, etc
• conduct training sessions for the office security / safety program
• coordinate the office safety program and initiatives. Ensures these programs are in-line with the company’s safety philosophy
• coordinate crisis management efforts for the office environment
• prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required
• liaise with peer professionals, police and government agencies

Qualifications

• must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• the ideal candidate will have a successful background in the security management and physical security discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience
• a Security Management Certificate or other security related post secondary education is preferred. CPP and or PSP designation would be considered an asset
• a commitment to continuing education in the security management field is essential
• standard first aid & CPR training is required and higher level of first responder training is an asset
• candidate must be able to achieve compliance under the new Alberta Security Services & Investigators Act
• proven ability to work with others in a team environment 
• highly proficient in writing physical security plans & procedures
• technical expertise in conducting physical security surveys and risk / threat assessments
• strong investigative background and incident management skills
• proven ability to deliver training in a classroom setting
• strong working knowledge of and experience with access control systems, alarm monitoring systems, CCTV camera systems and fire alarm systems
• knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial Statutes, security legislation and fire & life safety systems is required
• exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, organizational skills and proven attention to detail

Security - Operations Support Manager Risk Management and Security Entertain a Great Opportunity! We're looking for a team player to take the lead in delivering exceptional and safe experiences for our guests and our employees at Northlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the entire surveillance and dispatch operations for the Northlands site. The Manager, Security Operations Support, will also play a key role in conducting and overseeing internal investigations, criminal allegations and complaints. Key Responsibilities Perform manager-level supervision of surveillance/ dispatch duties including administration, staffing, training, and overall performance of the surveillance equipment and operations. Supervise the Systems Support Officer and Monitor Room personnel. Develop programs, procedures and policies to enhance the operational performance of surveillance functions, and ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, laws and procedures. Work closely with department managers to ensure optimal surveillance is provided to meet the diverse needs of the organization. Provide assistance to the Director, Risk Management and Safety, in the process and development of security operation controls; policies and procedures; business plans; and budgets. Manage departmental procurement. Liaise with members of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, Edmonton Police Service and other law enforcement agencies. Participate regularly in gaming industry training, seminars and tradeshows to enhance the surveillance operations at Northlands. Experience Seven (7) to 10 years of policing, security or surveillance experience. Law enforcement experience dealing with criminal investigation and prosecution is required. Investigational and or supervisory experience, preferably related to the gaming industry is a definite asset. Vast knowledge of surveillance room equipment and requirements is desired including familiarity with and experience in data mining security incident management systems. High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field is preferred. Related education or training in the operation of surveillance related equipment is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office are also definite assets. Responsible for meeting the Loss Prevention and Environmental Health & Safety (LP and EH&S) objectives of the company.  Administer and facilitate the company’s LP and EH&S program in the assigned store in order to protect company assets and improve profitability.  Specific responsibilities include:

·         Complete incident reports, conduct internal investigations and implement corrective actions.   Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents and urgent issues as they arise.

·         Implement local laws for each province in regards to citizens arrest, civil recoveries, and bad debt collections.   Stay current on legislation/standards for LP and EH&S and make recommendations for improvement.  Act as a liaison with all relevant external agencies for LP and EH&S.    

·         Minimize the financial losses related to theft, vandalism, accident and injury.  Monitor all frauds, including cheque, credit card and returns.   

·         Conduct audits and complete audit reports.  Review each store’s key performance reports and follow up on discrepancies.
