Edmonton and Northern Alberta Crime Stoppers

 

Ambere will give an overview of Crime Stoppers, some of their key stats, their 30th Anniversary Year and how they are venturing into social media to promote themselves and recent crimes. Crime Stoppers is a charitable not-for-profit organization that provides a variety of community services combined with their anonymous phone line that rewards individuals up to $2000, who report tips regarding crimes. They are a strong, vibrant organization that relies entirely on the public’s financial support. Their mission for the past 30 years is simply to improve community safety and reduce victimization in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

CIPS--Counter Terrorism

CIPS Inc. will be hosting Internationally recognized Israeli Counter terrorism expert Daniel (Danny) Sharon. Danny is a retired 28-year veteran of the Israeli Security Forces. His responsibilities have included the civil administration and jurisdiction of 35,000 residents of an area approximately 100 square kilometers.  He is experienced in counter terrorism, intelligence, weapons, and body language.  His achievements include being an Israeli Police Commander in the Golan Heights, the Bravery Medal Award, Police Officer of the Year Award, and the disarming of a suicide bomber, which lead to the development of the Counter-action Manual.  The presenter's fields of expertise are counter-terror evaluation, identification of suicide bombers, their containment and disarmament, operational behavior, body language, intelligence, airport and perimeter security, bomb management and containment planning, exposure and infiltration into criminal and terrorist organizations, and training police forces and security personnel.

 

He has spoken and taught internationally. This course has been well received by security and law enforcement in (the U.S., Portugal, Brazil and Switzerland).

 

He will be providing his comprehensive counter terrorism course for qualified security and law enforcement officials. This is the first time this course has been delivered in Canada. There is a certification test and certificate issued to successful candidates. Certificate issued by SSTS of Israel.
